Hey guys,
Erm, I am having some problems uploading my drawing due to some formatting problems, but I shall continue to introduce the monument I have in mind anyway. After long thought, I decided to make something like a school logo for the monument for Tan Kah Kee. And the logo represents a "school" called Tan Kah Kee school as I realised that none of the schools were named after him and therefore to respect and honour him we could make this "school" named after him.
At the side of the logo, there are three important chinese values that Mr Tan Kah Kee rates very highly. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that, the school logo is actually a basic arrow with some modifications to it. And of course, it is pointing upwards, which means to keep trying to improve. And that is similar to the last value written at the bottom, which is in hanyu pinyin" ji ji xiang shang". Also, above the schoo logo, there is a book which represents Mr Tan Kah Kee's devotion to education.
I suppose that this monument could indeed be placed in the Singapore museum, or probably could be placed in one of the schools founded by Mr Tan Kah Kee. But I feel that a person like him should be regarded highly and respected and therefore should be placed in an area where many people would visit and of course, the best place then would be the Singapore museum. And, really sorry, I can't get the formatting problem resolved, shall ask Ms Yeo what to do from here tomorrow. Thanks and my reflections will be in the next post.
